The Institute has a strong focus on health services research (patient safety, patient experience, workforce development, quality improvement and implementation science), health inequalities and digital inclusion. The HMNCRI works in partnership with a wide range of NHS, health and social care, commercial and VCSE organisations to develop innovative solutions to issues facing health and care today.
The University has launched its second research Institute, The John Dawson Drug Development and Discovery Research Institute. Building on the University’s significant clinical, laboratory and data science expertise, this Institute aims to translate research into the development of therapies and products including drugs to treat rare diseases, disease biomarkers and drug delivery, partnering with the NHS and commercial organisations.
