Northumbria University is currently redefining its vision with work ongoing to develop a new five year strategy from 2024 – 2030. It will evolve around being a research intensive university that unlocks potential for all, changing lives regionally, nationally and internationally.

Currently University of the Year, through the Times Higher Awards, it marks Northumbria’s remarkable transformation to become a research-intensive university. The strategy, which began in 2008, embedded quality research at the centre of everything that the University does, alongside a clear social mobility mission, and alignment to business and the demands of the regional and local economy.
