Investing in Children
Investing in Children (IiC) is an organisation concerned with the human rights of children.
Its purpose is to promote the rights of children and young people, and to ensure that their voices are heard in decisions that are made about them within public and voluntary sector services. This is in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, 1989 and is reflected in various acts of Parliament and statutory regulations (The Children Act 1989 & 2004, The Children and Young People Act 2008, the Education and Skills Act 2008, the Children’s Trust Regulations 2010 and the principle of ‘No decision about me without me’ within health services.)
We are based in County Durham but work across the North East and North Cumbria region.
