Internationalisation Pledge Meeting

In July, we hosted the Internationalisation Health and Life Sciences Pledge meeting at Health Innovation North East North Cumbria (HI NENC) offices in CityGate. The meeting focused on the benefits, barriers and actions to take forward for organisations and companies interested in the international market.

We heard from some inspiring keynote speakers who helped to set the scene including Michelle Duggan, Inward Investment Manager at North East Combined Authority and Ian Crosby, International Trade Advisor, at Department of Business and Trade. The meeting brought together over 40 delegates from varying parts of the sector including NHS Trusts, universities, research networks and many more.

We’d like to thank all of the Pledgee’s who attended and a special thanks to our speakers, Michelle and Ian. We are grateful for your active participation, whether it was by contributing to the sessions, engaging with speakers and fellow attendees, or sharing your thoughts and feedback.

The NHS Innovation Service provides practical support for health and care innovators at all stages, from start-ups to established enterprises. It offers a centralised, transparent record system to streamline processes and reduce redundancy, eliminating the need for multiple forms and duplicate conversations.

Innovators can also access expert advice and guidance, alongside a free review to assess their current needs and connect them with suitable organisations for further assistance.

The service has developed Innovation Guides to support innovators throughout their journey across the innovation pathway, helping them better understand how to develop impactful innovations for the NHS.
